A high-tech business from Darlington is to create five jobs within the next year after expanding.
Solo Thermal Imaging Limited was established last month creating six jobs and will manufacture one of the smallest thermal imaging cameras in the world, which uses innovative new technology.
By rendering infrared radiation as visible light, they allow fire-fighters to see areas of heat through smoke, darkness or heat permeable barriers.
Solo Thermal Imaging has now moved into premises at Morton Park, in Darlington and has secured a £26,000 Grant for Business Investment (GBI) from regional development agency One NorthEast.
Victoria McLaren, Managing Director of Solo Thermal Imaging, said “Now that we have all our operations established in new North East premises we are well positioned to grow the business and offer more high-tech jobs.”
The business has been helped with its start-up and expansion plans by Haines Watts Chartered Accountants.
Graham Cornforth, Corporate Finance Manager at Haines Watts, said: “We are very excited to be working with a company like Solo.”
“Securing the GBI funding from One NorthEast on behalf of Solo is a great achievement and demonstrates that it remains possible to secure funding for good projects. We look forward to working with Solo as they continue to grow.”
