Darlington Borough Council’s Business Engagement Team is now running an Enterprise Coaching service to help residents look at their hobbies, skills and aspirations, to see whether or not there might be an opportunity for self employment.
Shakeel Asghar the new Enterprise Coach will work with local residents and support them in exploring the possibilities of starting a business.
Working within selected communities, the Enterprise Coach will be on hand to discuss with individuals any skills and hobbies they might have, whilst exploring whether or not these could be transferred into self employment.
Shakeel will also work with individuals who have a business idea, looking at the viability of the proposed business.
Through enterprise coaching we will offer any necessary support to individuals in the form of skills training and mentoring. In addition we will have access to events and training facilitated through our network of partners.
There will also be a series of events aimed at raising awareness of enterprising activities. These events will take place at various locations around the Borough. The venues will be carefully selected so that residents have maximum accessibility.
The Enterprise Coaching project aims to encourage enterprise and self employment throughout the Borough.
